Welcome

Radical Klarity evolved from an earlier site I created, called Simple Writing, which reached thousands of writers and ranked on the first page of Google for key writing topics. I learned a lot from that experience, and now I’ve built something sharper, deeper, and even more focused.

Radical Klarity is all about writing that’s clear, strong, and effective. Whether you’re writing fiction or nonfiction, everything starts with purpose: What are you trying to say? Who are you saying it to, and why?

Say it loud, or say it soft as a whisper, but always say it clearly.

Why “Radical Klarity”?

Because clarity is radical. It’s the root—the foundation—of every powerful piece of writing.

It’s what cuts through the noise, keeps readers engaged, and makes your ideas shine.

Stephen King, in On Writing, said that “Writing is telepathy.” It’s a writer’s thoughts transmitted to others via peculiar little marks that represent sounds and meanings. If your thinking is clear, your writing will be clear. But if your thoughts are jumbled, your writing will be too.

Clear writing reflects clear thinking. But even clear thinkers fall into habits with phrases, patterns, or sentence structures that dull the message. That’s where skill development comes in. I have some tricks to help with that.

Clarity isn’t just about simple sentences or correct grammar. It’s about knowing what you want to say and saying it so your reader gets it the first time. That’s what makes writing powerful.

Radical Klarity means going all-in on that idea. Not just polishing your writing at the surface level, but digging deep to sharpen your message and make it resonate.

Still thinking about “radical?” Here’s your word nerd deep dive.

Who am I?

I’m a writer, editor, and SEO content pro with a passion for helping people write better and think more deeply. I’ve taught college writing, managed a university writing lab, and written and edited thousands of blog posts and articles. When I’m not working with clients, I’m writing poems, drafting a new novel, or getting lost in the latest bestseller.

But before I started writing seriously (and occasionally in between), I did a little of everything. I waited tables in high school and most of my college years. I became a cook, then an assistant chef. I spent time in retail, real estate, sales, and even security. One summer, I joined a landscaping crew with just one requirement: learn how to drive a truck with a trailer behind it. Success!

Not long after that, I switched from jeans to skirts and spent some time in corporate HR and PR. Sew masks during the COVID-19 pandemic? Set up an Etsy shop and sell them? Been there, done that.

From classrooms and client projects to cubicles and crowded restaurants, everything involves translating ideas into clear, compelling language. And all of my experiences help me meet writers where they are with practical, thoughtful guidance that works.

So pull up a chair, grab your favorite beverage, and let’s get to work.

Let’s make your writing better—no matter what you’re writing—starting now. 🚀
